THE 3rd Annual Native Philanthropy Institute Summary

NATIVE GATHERING

"The Future of Native Philanthropy"

pdf DOWNLOAD: 2008 Institute Summary Report

The 3rd Annual National Philanthropy Institute demonstrated the commitment of Native and non-Native professionals working in philanthropy through insightful questions, sharing our best practices, humor and candor. From the Nike N7 story, National Museum of American Indian tour and reception, to the innovative strategies for sustaining our communities and inspiring speakers, Native Americans in Philanthropy membership expanded their resources and tools through this annual networking and educational event.

We are committed to seeking new and innovative ways to keep you, the network, connected. We are committed to working with you in advocating for increased access to power and resources for strategic impact on our communities' self-defined efforts. Together, we are an organized force for positive change in philanthropy and building leadership for today and tomorrow.

"The Native Philanthropy Institute shown light on the issues that we are facing in our communities. The conference speakers and participants brought such insight and enthusiasm"

"So much of what we do as Native people is centered around community and my participation at this year's gathering strengthens my ties and love for my tribe and the networks I represent. Not only has the NAP work strengthened our communities it is also a reflection of how we as native communities have become better at expressing the challenges of our communities and how we can collectively take care of those needs. My commitment to those needs and challenges we undertake has been reborn in the faces, friendship and generosity of the members of NAP.
"
- Ron Martinez Looking Elk

We extend many thanks to all those who made this years gathering a success. We look forward to building on this moment and engaging in ever deepening and rich conversation.
