Native Americans in Philanthropy Annual Meeting & Native Philanthropy Institute

It was great to see you again and meet some of you for the first time at the Native Philanthropy Institute. Please join me in welcoming our new members!

The Institute was the place to be - the premier event for Native Americans in Philanthropy membership and allies. Native and non-Native individuals, Tribal and Native Foundation representatives and Native nonprofits gathered to celebrate, network, share experiences and expertise, and advance the role of philanthropy in Native communities.

Excellent sessions expanded our knowledge of fundraising, contemporary issues in the field, communications, values in Native communities and philanthropy, and strengthening internal structures through board and financial decisions.

Joe McDonald, President of Salish Kootenai College demonstrated in his keynote how Native organizations and grantmakers can partner to use philanthropy as a tool to strengthen and uplift Native philanthropy as a reflection of self-determination and our common good.

The Annual Meeting and the Awards celebrations had a record 100 people in attendance and many new (and younger) faces! With 150 people registered for the Institute - your participation was what made this such a great success!
